The story behind the book
There are moments in motherhood that stay with you forever.
One of mine was the day my four-year-old told me he didn’t want a certain food in his lunchbox anymore because it was “smelly.”
I knew instantly those weren’t his words and that this was one of those pivotal parenting moments. A chance to help him hold onto who he was, no matter what others said.
From that day, living the truth in your heart became our family motto. It’s the phrase we’ve leaned on through the big and the small, a reminder that being true to who you are matters most.
This book was born from the beautiful heart of my son, who three years after he let the words of others change his lunchbox choices, come to me with complete conviction:
“Mummy, when I’m older I want to make Pokémon real. And I want to help everyone in the world know the truth in their hearts.”
That’s what this book is about: giving children a metaphor they can carry with them - strength, courage, and the wisdom to stay connected to who they are, always.
