“As an educator with over 25 years of experience, I have observed that children today often struggle with picking themselves up and finding solutions to their problems. The Bowly series is an exceptional collection of books designed to teach children essential skills such as resilience, a growth mindset, and grit. When I introduced the Bowly books to my Year 1 class, they were immediately captivated. The books are not only fun and engaging but also deeply impactful. I plan to prominently display the Bowly books in my classroom and regularly refer to them during lessons.”

Jane Tyson, Year 1

A growing collection of one-of-a-kind SEL stories

Bowly is feeling frustrated and is ready to give up learning to walk the tightrope when a mysterious word appears. Where did it come from and can it help Bowly to keep going?

A charming story to introduce children to the power of yet and learning to persevere when things get tough. The perfect book for helping children to build resilience and growth mindset.

Bowly has kicked his ball over a ravine and makes mistake after mistake trying to get it back. Never fear, because Bowly knows exactly how to celebrate and learn from his mistakes - even in the face of danger!

A super fun story, with a really catchy rhyme, to teach children the power of celebrating their mistakes.  The perfect book to help nurture grit and growth mindset.

Bowly faces challenge after challenge, but never gives up. He has a karate-chopping-problem-solving trick up his sleeve! There’s nothing that can stop him, except a dragon maybe.

A super fun story to teach children a powerful question when faced with a problem: “What’s the hard part?”
The perfect book to help nurture resilience and a solution-focused mindset.

Bowly is covered in mud and feeling angry, but he has just the right tool: his big, calm, melting breath. There is just a bit more melting than he had anticipated!

A fun story to introduce children to a practical and powerful breathing tool. The perfect book for nurturing self-regulation and mindfulness.

About the author

Angharad Davies lives in South Wales with her husband and two sons (7 and 5).  After witnessing the magic of story in her children for nurturing emotional intelligence, growth mindset and resilience, she decided to write her own.

Combining her knowledge from postgraduate qualifications in Psychology and Play Therapy with her children's love for humorous reads, Bowly - the little light-filled bowl - was born.  Having seen how engaged her children were in the book-creation process, she decided that more children needed to experience the magic.

She now collaborates with hundreds of children across the UK to write her Bowly Can picture books.  Angharad is now on a mission to turn her books into a powerful method - incorportating new resources and mindset moves - so that children across the nation can better understand emotions, navigate challenges, and build a strong sense of self from the earliest years.
