Angharad Davies lives in south Wales with her husband and two sons (7 and 5). After witnessing the magic of story in her children for nurturing emotional intelligence, growth mindset and resilience, she decided to write her own.
Combining her knowledge from postgraduate qualifications in Psychology and Play Therapy with her children's love for humorous reads, Bowly - the little light-filled bowl - was born. Having seen how engaged her children were in the book-creation process, she decided that more children needed to experience the magic.
She now collaborates with hundreds of children across the UK to write her Bowly Can picture books.

This experience is ideal for children aged 4–11. Younger children may need a little help navigating the videos or sharing their ideas, while older kids can dive in more independently and explore their creativity in depth. Everyone brings something special!
That’s brilliant! Siblings can absolutely join in together. The price for one child is £19.95, and for 2+ children in the same household, you can get a discounted bundle for £29.95. You’ll receive one login, and all your kids can share their ideas and be part of the community.
The experience runs throughout the summer holidays.
Here’s what to expect:
- There’ll be weekly behind-the-scenes live video updates where Angharad shares progress on the real Bowly book being created, which you can catch up on any time.
- A private, child-safe community space where your child can upload their ideas and drawings, comment on others, and feel part of something special.
- Pre-recorded videos that you can do at your family's own pace, with prompts from Angharad, guiding your child through a fun part of the book-building process (e.g. plot, alien words, illustration ideas).
Nope! This is a go-at-your-own-pace experience. You can catch up at any time. Whether you're home all summer or travelling, it’s designed to be flexible and family-friendly.
Once you sign up, you'll get instant access via a secure online platform. All videos and prompts are hosted there, and you’ll also get access to the private community space to share and see what others are creating.
They’ll definitely help shape the journey! While we can’t guarantee individual ideas will be featured directly in the final published book (lots of children will be involved!), Angharad will be drawing inspiration from what she sees. Your child’s illustrations will be featured on a gallery page on the website, and every participant will be named in a special thank you section online.
Yes! You’ll receive a free digital copy of the finished Bowly Can book when it’s published this autumn.
